I pride myself on having both the editorial and technical skills to bring stories to life. Whether in-front or behind the camera, I’m comfortable with reporting, writing, shooting and editing for traditional broadcast storytelling, but have an aptitude to innovate the format and push boundaries for web and social media.
In today’s world, I know a good story must resonate across multiple platforms. I look at subjects, characters, and threads that highlight those on the sidelines, answer questions, and inspire new ones. My curiosity to understand how people, groups, and processes work drives my storytelling.
Above all else, the teamwork required to make a story shine is my favorite aspect of video production. Whether as an intern watching a network producer make split-second decisions during breaking news, or as a college station news director cheering on a reporter during a tough interview, I live for the moments when everyone’s hard work culminates to make the story, video, or newscast flow like magic.
